Ali, a young Iraqi boy, loses his parents in the Iraq War and comes to live with his beekeeper grandfather in America. Ali must learn to make new friends, deal with conflict and bullying, heal from his wartime trauma, and learn to play the strange American game of baseball. Most importantly, he inherits his love of honey bees from his grandfather and takes on the mission of trying to help save them.
Dr. Solheim has a Ph.D. in History and is a distinguished professor and playwright at Citrus College in Glendora, CA, USA. He has great interest in helping war veterans, their families, the children of war, and animals threatened by war. Solheim's first play, The Bronze Star, won two national awards from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in 2013. His second play, The Epiphany, was produced in America and in Norway.
